The Benefits received by the Suffering Souls because of our prayers and Holy Communion offered for them.

In Germany, Blessed Joan of the Cross of the Poor Clares one day was in deep meditation when she became ecstatic and beheld a vision. At that time, a religious sister entered into her room. Immediately Sister Joan of the Cross came out of her ecstasy and told her, “Sister, beware, do not touch the Thing on the table. It is the Divine Eucharist. It was the Angels who put it here, just a little while ago.” The mystified nun asked her eagerly, “How did it happen?”

Blessed Joan of the Cross explained: “A man who lived in sin for a very long time, made the confession of his sins at the time of his death agony. However he was not contrite for his sin and hence did not receive God’s absolution of sins. Thus he had received Communion with sin in his soul.

“Being punished for his sins, he fell into hell with the Blessed Eucharist in his mouth. The angels, having decided that the Holy Eucharist must not be in his mouth and on the instruction of our Lord, brought It with utmost love and adoration to me. And they commanded me to consume It tomorrow after praying for a particular soul, now in Purgatory, which had an immense love and piety towards the Blessed Sacrament when he was alive.”

And, as instructed by the angels, the next day, Blessed Joan of the Cross consumed that Holy Eucharist. And through the mercy of God, she strongly felt in her heart that this particular soul went to heaven immediately after her receipt of the Holy Host.

Christians, receive Holy Communion with due preparation of your soul and body. Yes, confess your sins revealing each and every sin you committed without hiding any, with the strong resolution of avoiding all your past sins at any cost, and receive absolution, before receiving Communion.
