The Beggings, Longings and Complaints of The Souls in Purgatory.

A woman, as commanded by Our Lord, made her complaints known to his son: “My son! Think of your mother who gave birth to you. Turn an ear to my cries and entreaties. You do not know how horribly I am suffering in Purgatory according to the judgment of our God of Justice. My pains which are unutterable and which cannot be comprehended by you, must come to an end soon. Help me with devotion and vigor and also with the same love you had for me when I was alive. My son, won’t you lift me up? Do not forget me. My terrible pains will subside only with your help. Try to put out the fire which torments me with your prayers, alms and fasting. Won’t you do me this favor which I beg you, I, your dear mother, who bore you in my womb for ten months and suffered a lot to bring you up and settle you? You who were very loving and obedient to me when I was alive, why did you forget me when I died? Do not become the traitor of those who loved you with a deep affection. And do not forget that if you are treacherous towards them, God’s vengeance will fall on you and your offspring. When I was in my death agony, you were near me and, weeping with love, you said to me, “Mother, I will help your soul in every way, after your death.” Why didn’t you fulfil it? My dear, why did you forget me? Am I not your mother even after my death? Can my death change the fact that you are my son? My son! Who else will help me than you? I am earnestly begging you only because of the severity of the pains I suffer in the flames of Purgatory.”

Christians! At first, think whether you are worthy to hear the voices of your parents which tell from Purgatory about their pains. You are enjoying all the very precious wealth and possessions which they painstakingly earned for you. Then how can you forget them like ungrateful children without doing them any help? Was the love you showed to your parents when they were alive, mere hypocrisy and fake? Did you pretend to be affectionate upon them only to gain all their properties for yourselves? Some children totally forget their deceased parents. Sometimes even the parents weep for their dead child, but why are they careless about doing any help to its soul?

In Austria, a dead man appeared to his mother who was weeping for him and said: “What do your tears avail to me who suffer terribly in purgatory? If you pray, keep fasting, give alms and offer Masses for my soul, it would be the sign of your true love for me.”

If an elephant falls into a pit, other elephants desperately try very hard to fill the pit with sand and to drag the fallen elephant out of the pit. Birds also rush to help their little ones when they are in danger.

The souls in purgatory suffer greatly thinking that their relatives, who are rational, do not have the affection and mercy which even the wild animals, which are nonsensical, show for their loved ones.

If you have not had such a merciful attitude so far, change yourselves at least hereafter. If you think your dead relatives, especially your parents, husband or wife, children are in the fiery pit of Purgatory and enduring untold sufferings, have mercy on them and offer Masses, your fasting, prayers and almsgiving, etc. for them and try to relieve them from this pit or at least try to decline their pains.

Suppose that you are agonizing after your death in that fire. How terribly will you suffer if your parents, husband or wife, or children and those who loved you deeply, totally forget you and abandon you without doing anything to save you from that fire? So do not forget that the same help is what the souls who loved you during their life on earth also expect from you desperately.
